Option six Inc. Wins Gold
Excellence In E-Learning Award
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana, 10/20/04 — Option Six, Inc., a developer of custom e-learning solutions, was recently awarded the Gold Excellence in E-learning Award for training programs developed for the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation. The award is the online training industry’s most prestigious recognition for quality.
The Excellence in Learning Awards are presented by brandon-hall.com, one of the e-learning industry's leading research and consulting firms. Now in its tenth year, the awards program showcases exceptional work by providing feedback and benchmarking to entrants in an overall effort to help advance the e-learning industry.
“Managing the Krispy Kreme Way” is a series of online training programs that address the complex specifications of franchise management tailored to the unique Krispy Kreme environment nurtured since 1938. “With hundreds of new managers hired annually these courses are a fundamental requirement,” says Bill West, Option Six president. “The most challenging aspect for any new leader is to comprehend the Krispy Kreme customer service philosophy and apply it on a day-to-day basis.” The course integrated the corporate culture with the core responsibilities of store management using a series of problem-based scenarios and media-based activities. The result produces a highly engaging and effective learning experience.
This series of courses has been the benchmark for the Option Six and Krispy Kreme relationship. Rob Bateman, vice president of organization development, says: “Option Six has continuously provided best-of-class e-learning consulting and development services. More important, I believe, is how they have demonstrated a sincere desire to collaborate, add value, and provide solutions that are congruent to our company values and vision. They have earned the right to be our partner, not just a vendor.”
Option Six, Inc., was recognized during an awards ceremony on Oct. 12 in San Francisco as part of the 2004 Training Fall Conference & Expo. This year, entries were submitted in three categories: Outstanding Learning Programs and Initiatives, Custom Content, and Innovative Technology. Entries were evaluated by judges with expertise in instructional design, online learning, and the implementation of e-learning.
“The winning entries this year show that innovation in our field is continuing at full speed. The winners are excellent both in terms of creativity and range of application,” said Brandon Hall, Ph.D., of brandon-hall.com and chairman of the Excellence in Learning Awards program. “These winners are the new cutting edge.”
